Walk/Listen/Respond Day 4

Sometimes it has been a tricky job to align my ears with my eyes but I’ve at least been safe in the knowledge that a long album means I have time on my side to settle into the exercise. The idea is that the response photograph only comes when it is absolutely perfect for the music at that particular moment and also my state of mind feels in harmony with what I hear.

Today has been the most challenging day in this new project with the random selection being a very short 4 track EP. I always put my headphones on just as I’m leaving the house so today I needed to consider very carefully everything I was seeing right away in my local neighbourhood. The routine of putting on my headphone is starting to have the ability of calming my mind instantly ready to receive the incoming auditory and visual clues. It will take more than just 4 attempts at Walk/Listen/Respond before this routine becomes standard but already I am seeing and feeling the benefits.

The initial panic of the random album being so short was overcome with the familiarity of the music and I knew after 30 seconds I would be ok. Who knew a walk to the post office could be so perfect for aligning mind, body, and soul.
