Express Yourself

I never know what I’m going to find on my camera. This isn’t because I forget what photographs I’ve taken – well not usually. I often lend my camera out to people when I’m running photography classes in the event of equipment breaking or failing. This means when it is returned there are all sorts of things there to surprise me.

This photograph is a prime example. I can’t even work out which brief I gave the class that could possibly explain what and why this photograph came into being. Sometimes participants are so overcome with the need to experiment that this sort of thing just happens.

I always welcome this experimentation. The instant freedom of expression that a camera can give you is such a powerful tool. Who am I to deny anyone this right?
