Workers in Progress

Tomorrow sees the launch of the Workers in Progress exhibition at The Workers Gallery and Workshops in Ynyshir, Rhondda. It’s an unusual style of exhibition since it shares methods and reasons rather than finished products. It is a sharing opportunity designed to display work in progress and experimental work.

Normally my experimental work is shared here on my blog rather than in a gallery so this is a unique opportunity to physically show others how my work is made. I’ve been working with Bone to decide how best to show our ideas about our Structured Chaos series. On display will be ideas and conversations between us about Eiscape as well as a previously unseen maquette of our current work in progress. We’ve also decided to put on show the first finished piece from our series.

Incidentally, there is even more on Eiscape and how the original photograph for that collage came into being over on Bone’s blog which you can find here. There you can also see potential future images which we will be working with as Structured Chaos progresses.

Meanwhile, Workers in Progress opens Sunday 15th March at The Workers Gallery, Ynyshir, Rhondda and runs until April 5th.
