A Shared Ascension?

I’m not sure how to share Ascension with you. Its one of those pieces that doesn’t necessarily photograph well due to the immense detailing. I definitely think this is better seen, or possibly touched. A video would be the next best alternative and I’ll definitely sort that during the next 24 hours.

I’m reluctant to show a full frontal photograph and yet it seems the only way to get the whole picture across. I need to think about this carefully and consult with a test sample of people first. Meanwhile, here’s a sneaky little detail of what the picture is about. I’ll definitely post the finished piece here tomorrow for you to see. This has been far too long in its development to not get it out into the world.

Ascension is the latest in the Structured Chaos series which I’m developing in collaboration with Ben Honebone. All the artworks in this series are 12″ x 12″ layered paper assemblages based on Ben’s photographs. You can read more on the methods we’re using here.
