I’m continuing to work on Stare Down and already I’ve hit a few problems. The detail in the source image is so haphazard and random that my eyes are spinning trying to find something on which to focus.
I’ve encountered this problem before with some of my earlier works. Back then I foolishly pushed on and suffered with eye strain and headaches. With experience I’ve learned to take regular breaks and not drive myself too hard.
Luckily this layer is an exception rather than the rule for this artwork. Perhaps I should work on an easier lower layer and leave finishing this one for another day.
