A Structured Automation?

With the next Structured Chaos about to begin we’ve been looking at ways for this to revisit old themes yet still keep the series fresh.

I’ve had these taxidermy pins lying around for a few years now. They’re left over from my Transmutations series (2011) and I also used them for a piece  in my Small Worlds collection which I called Bones (2012). In each of these uses I considered ideas on preservation and entymology.

Now they’re coming into use in a different context. The next Structured Chaos will consider ideas of chaos in machinery and automation. It will be a mixed media piece (paper and pins) and I’m determined to stick to the idea of this being an assemblage rather than a collage if possible. We’re still discussing how we can make it work in context. A few more days planning before we can get started…
