I’ve been cutting more of Robot in Disguise today as part of our Structured Chaos series.
I’m still not sure how this will be assembled but the method of cutting the pieces is well established now. I’m not counting this one in layers since some pieces comprise of a whole photograph whilst others are parts are fractions of a whole. The assembly method will be totally different to previous artworks in this series too.
Photographing these layers gives me an idea of how the assembly will take place and distances me a little from the cutting itself. Sometimes I get distracted and see additional possibilities within these reference photographs. These end up as little art photographs all of their own.
Here’s an example, one I took earlier of two overlaid layers from Robot in Disguise next to a digital manipulation done on my phone.
