Bringing Gower Home to the Civic Centre

Today I met up again with participants from my Bringing Gower Home project who are affiliated with the Traumatic Brain Injury Service (TBIS) at Morriston Hospital. We went out to Reynoldston for a photography workshop in December and today we shared good memories of the day at the Civic Centre in Swansea. Over a cuppa and a chat we looked at the amazing photographs the group took. You can see a selection of them here.

Talking in front of others can be a difficult skill but the TBIS group took it in their stride. I am making a video of the experiences of all ten groups participating in Bringing Gower Home and this group had great fun talking to the camera. Trying something new like this can be very daunting and most people spend their whole lives without ever being asked to do a video interview. Stringing together a sentence and coming across as professionals is no mean feat at the best of times let alone when there’s a camera on you; so I was really impressed with how everyone rose to the challenge.

Another group from TBIS will have the chance to participate in Bringing Gower Home this Spring and I’ll be working closely with the service to provide other photography workshops in the near future.
