Confidence and Control

We hid inside this afternoon  whilst Storm Jonas battered the UK. There is plenty you can do with the camera indoors and today we chose to look at the difference between portraits and selfies for our workshop at Centrepoint, Morriston.

Having your portrait taken can be a nerve racking thing if you’re not confident about your own appearance so we explored ideas on how we could do this differently. Putting your faith in a photographer to do a good job of catching your personality is tricky business and there was a lot of discussion about confidence and control. We discussed distance away from the camera and considered different angles so that people could feel more empowered about their own image.

The results here explore shyness, confidence, and a whole range of feelings in-between.
