Current Projects

2018 has seen delivery of a series of bespoke workshops for various organisations and charities across Wales.

Through Summer and Autumn I have been delivering Continuing Professional Development to teachers on behalf of NAWR Arts and Education Network Mid and West Wales. This series of workshops has been based in Oriel Davies in Newtown, Oriel Q in Narberth, and Pontardawe Arts Centre in Neath Port Talbot. These workshops are all about using i-Pads to make photographs, edit using PS Express, and create storyboards. We’re aiming to roll out this opportunity to other regions of Wales soon.

During Spring I worked with ASDES to empower participants to tell their stories about their encounters with employers. We considered superheroes, narrative, storyboards, photographs, drawing, all with the goal of shooting and creating a short film to be shared with potential employers. I also delivered one-off workshop for Swansea Carers Centre later in the year which encouraged participants to be more mindful of their surroundings and get creative using photography. Meanwhile Ysgol Hendrefelin in Port Talbot invited us in to deliver a four week course to enhance the creative skills portfolio of their Year 11 Art students.

In 2017 I worked closely with Communities First across the South Wales region to deliver a series of empowerment and employability workshops. Gains in individual feelings of self-worth came through a series of tasks using the camera. In turn participants viewed themselves, their habits, and behaviours  in a positive way and worked towards improving their life goals and sense of well being. We looked at ways we can present ourselves better to others and considered how to appear to be our best in a variety of situations. Participants ended each course giving presentations of their photographs to their peers. These workshops were highly successful with many participants going on to find employment, or gaining the confidence to enrol on college courses to further their self-improvement. We’re taking a break whilst Communities First transitions and hope, later in 2018, to work closely with the new organisations that evolve out of this transformative phase.

Meanwhile, I am also working with Stone Letter Media in producing music videos, short films, documentaries, promotional videos, live performance, graphic design, artwork and photography for anyone who needs us.
